Zakir FCA is the Director of Pangea Baraka, a specialist accounting and advisory firm dedicated to serving the under-served charity sector – particularly small and medium-sized charities. Zakir founded Pangea Baraka with a clear purpose: to empower charitable organisations with the financial clarity, regulatory compliance, and strategic support they need to thrive and maximise their social impact.

 

Zakir brings a wealth of experience as an auditor, consultant, and programme manager, having worked across global financial institutions. His professional journey includes supporting risk management, governance, and internal control frameworks at major organisations.

 

Zakir has successfully led high-impact advisory projects, including a governance and culture review for an asset management firm following an FCA fine, board effectiveness reviews, and the development of a robust framework for the Bank of England’s stress testing programme at a leading UK bank.

In addition to his corporate credentials, Zakir has extensive board-level experience within the education and charity sectors. He has served as a trustee and chair of finance for multiple multi-academy trusts and/or schools for a decade, contributing to strategic oversight and financial stewardship. He is also a trustee and treasurer of a family-run charitable trust, further deepening his understanding of the operational and compliance challenges that grassroots organisations face.
